The Complete SharePoint Extranet: Microsoft IAG and Epok

SharePoint extranets offer an important new method for secure communications with external users. SharePoint extranets are being used to manage clinical trials, litigation activities, construction projects, suppliers, dealer portals and more. New for SharePoint: 'Virtual Document' Provides Simultaneous Editing and Check-in

SharePoint excels at bringing teams together for content creation and collaboration, a vital and time-saving process resulting in increased productivity and efficiency. But waiting for each person to check in SharePoint documents before others can contribute interferes with the document creation process, causing undue stress and marring efficiency.

The virtual document is the industry accepted solution for this problem. It contains components, or child documents, acting as content sections feeding into a master document. Protect Your Enterprise Applications From Attack

SharePoint Extranet Litigation Portals (June 24, 2009)

Litigation activities involve outside participants such as customers, co-counsel, discovery specialists and expert witnesses. Until now, there have been only limited tools, such as email or FTP sites, for integrating these participants into the litigation management process to share information, activities and task plans. These tools also make it hard to ensure everyone on an extended team has accurate information, and they lack the controls to prevent inappropriate information disclosure.
